The human body needs a wide variety of nutrition to maintain a healthy lifestyle. As different foods supply different nutrition, consuming food to supply a balanced diet can sometimes be tricky. Superfoods are the foods that are thought to be nutritionally dense and should therefore be included in the diet.

While there is no actual category of superfoods, foods like blueberries, strawberries, avocado, beans, grains, vegetables and a wide variety of nuts are on the top list of the superfoods.

Research done by Harvard University explained the nutritional facts of some of the mentioned superfoods.

Almonds are rich in vitamins, monounsaturated fat, fiber and minerals like calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. The study explained that the nut helps “reduce heart disease risk by lowering total and LDL cholesterol, and exerting anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.”

Eggs have a high source of protein, which helps the body make enzymes to power up the reactions in the body. The animal source of protein supplies amino acids that are hard to get from plant-based foods.

Blueberries are available in the market and are sources of nutrients like anthocyanin, which acts as an antioxidant in the body. According to the Medical News Today, blueberries help to decrease the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and overall mortality.

While different people may include different foods on their list, eating a balanced and healthy diet must be considered to maintain good health.
