The Lady Lions volleyball team lost its home match 3-0 against the University of Central Arkansas.

The final set scores for the Lady Lions were 18-25, 9-25 and 18-25. The Lady Lions stand at a 1-17 overall record.

“The biggest takeaway I would say is consistency,” said Caroline Golden, a sophomore outside hitter. “We have our ups, and when the ups were up, we were doing great. Whenever we’re down, it’s a struggle to pull ourselves back out of it, and I feel like once we find the consistency, then we’ll start being a team to reckon with.”

Golden tied for the team lead with five digs. Sam Gomez, a sophomore middle blocker, led the Lady Lions with eight kills while Jodi Edo, a junior middle blocker, made six kills.

Edo reflected on the team’s performance and how the team could improve.

“With the final result, we came out and wanted to fight harder, but the score still didn’t go our way as it ended with how the first set ended,” said Edo. “We came out fighting, but we just didn’t come out on top. We just need to learn how to start off strong, so we can finish strong.
