The Lady Lions competed against the Stephen F. Austin State University Ladyjacks and closed the game with a 1-1 tie.

On Friday, Oct. 12, the Lady Lions trailed the Ladyjacks 0-1 going into the second half, but Sofia Olsson, senior defender, tied the game with a goal in the second half. The goal was Olsson’s first of the season.

“We executed the plan for tonight’s game very well, and we all have a great mentality,” said Olsson. “To improve on, I guess take our chances, but it was an even game, and we fought well.”

With the tie, the Lady Lions’ overall record stands at 5-4-4 overall and 2-2-3 in the Southland Conference. Head Coach Christopher McBride shared his thoughts on the game.

“The game plan was excellent tonight,” said McBride. “Stephen F. Austin played a very unique way of defending where they man mark all over the field. I feel we had a few opportunities we should have scored off of. Moving forward, we just need to make sure we are prepared, but there’s still a long time left in the season for us to work on.”
