E.L.I.T.E. Women invited Dominique Gordon as the guest speaker for the third installment of the “Road to Success” lecture series. At the event, women learned about budgeting to help them succeed in the future.

Women learned how to budget and field net profits at E.L.I.T.E. Women’s third annual “Road to Success” lecture.

Scheduled from 6-7 p.m. in Student Union Room 2207, Dominique Gordon, guest speaker, presented “Welcome to the Real World.”

Allana Lagrange, community service chair of E.L.I.T.E. Women, discussed the history of the event.

“One of our founders of the organization, she was a part of help starting it,” said Lagrange. “She made the event to bring outside women that either have their own business or start a degree to come back and just talk to women about how to figure out their course of life, like what do they want in the future, how to help them pursue what they want, and what they would like to have and just different things on how to start your business, how to save, how to manage your school.”

Alexis Novel, treasurer of E.L.I.T.E. Women, believes the series provides useful information for daily life. Compared to past years, attendance for the “Welcome to the Real World” lecture was lower than expected according to Novel.

“Tonight’s event was smaller than usual and expected possibly due to other campus events that were being held at the same time,” shared Novel.

Despite the smaller attendance, Novel saw a positive response from the attendees.

“Members were very engaged in the topics in conversations,” stated Novel. “Lots of questions were asked for further knowledge. All members participated in discussions.”
