The Student Government Association used a sheet sign and beads to promote people to vote in the upcoming election on Saturday. ” You BEADer Vote!” was held in the Student Union Breezeway on March 28.

The Student Government Association encouraged people to vote in the municipal primary election this weekend.

“You BEADer Vote!” was held on March 28 at 12:30 p.m. in the Student Union Breezeway. While students signed a sheet sign explaining why they felt the need to vote, members of SGA handed out beads to encourage them to go to the polls this Saturday.

“We just really want to encourage people to come out this Saturday for the municipal primary elections, so we are just promoting that by giving out beads,” said Jacob Deliberto, a sophomore political science major.

Deliberto explained the use of beads for the event.

“We chose beads because we just want a fun little trend and since Mardi Gras has just passed, so we have a whole bunch of beads left over, which gives away the theme that ‘You BEADer Vote,'” stated Deliberto.

The polls will open on March 30 at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
