    Campus Dining and meal plans

Campus Dining offers a variety of dining facilities to meet the needs of faculty, staff and students. Students have the option of choosing a meal plan that satisfies their appetites or needs. According to Auxiliary Services Marketing Director Robin Parker, the easiest way for students to get a meal plan is by signing up  during registration on LEONet. Students that live on campus are required to have a meal plan.
According to the Campus Dining website, www.selu.campusdish.com, there are two parts to the meal plan, the Weekly Meal Allowance and the Declining Balance Dollars. The Weekly Meal Allowance includes all-you-can-eat meals. The Declining Balance Dollars are designated to supplement the meal allowance and can be used at any dining location on campus.
There are six meal plans that students have the option of choosing from. The Lion Plan is available to all resident students. It offers 19 all-you-can-eat meals per week in Cayman Café, with a declining balance of $100. The Pack Plan is also available to all resident students. It offers 150 all-you-can-eat meals per semester in Cayman Café, with a declining balance of $100. The Cub Plan is available to resident students with 24 or more credit hours. It offers four all-you-can-eat meals per week in Cayman Café, with a declining balance of $675.
The Commuter Plan, Voluntary 1 Plan and Voluntary 2 Plan are available to commuters and residents of Southeastern Oaks Apartments. The Commuter Plan offers a declining balance of $262.50 that is available for use at all dining locations. The Voluntary 1 Plan offers three all-you-can-eat meals per week in Cayman Café and a declining balance of $375. The Voluntary 2 Plan offers one all-you-can-eat meal per week in Cayman Café and a declining balance of $265.
According to Parker, the Pack Plan is the default plan for resident students if they fail to choose one during registration.
“The default plan is the Pack Plan if they don’t choose one,” said Parker. “That’s for students that live in the residence halls. We want to make sure that we are providing them with a healthy lifestyle and feed them; so that they are not going hungry.”
The nine facilities where students can use their meal plans are the Lion’s Den Food Court, Cayman Café, Chick-fil-A, Java City, Roomie’s Mane Market, Mane Market II, Subway and Starbucks.
Facilites maintain various hours of operation. Declining Balance cannot be used from 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Lion’s Den but is accepted at other dining locations.
