Dr. Lee E. Lind, Director, Student Publications

Dr. Lee E. Lind joined the staff of Southeastern in 2004 and has served as the director of Student Publications since 2007. He leads the department in providing students a learning lab environment in which to expand their journalism, photography, design and leadership skills. In this capacity, he serves as an advisor, educator and advocate for the students of the department, The Lion’s Roar newspaper, Le Souvenir yearbook and the campus community. He is an experienced leader specializing in student development and education, team building, public outreach, print publications, technology utilization, policy creation and fiscal management. He seeks to build a professional, creative, and flexible environment for students with his proven skills in marketing, management, budgets, program creation and effective communication.

Additionally, Dr. Lind serves as a conduct officer with the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability. In this role, he serves as a Student Hearing Board officer and chairperson. His duties in this area include the publishing of the Student Handbook including the Student Code of Conduct. He also serves a co-chair of the Campus Assault, Response and Education Team, a campus-wide committee tasked with the development of education, programming and intervention initiatives related to Title IX issues.

As a Student Affairs Administrator, Dr. Lind leads and serves in a variety of important capacities throughout the university. He chairs or serves on a number of committees including the Ring Ceremony Committee, the GRAD Fair Committee and the DSA Staff Development Committee. He serves as the sole staff representative on the Southeastern Institutional Review Board. While aiding in campus programming and student engagement, he often provides support and guidance for many campus events and programs and has even served as a judge for events such as Mocktails, Step show and Lip-Sync. He is also the faculty advisor to the Southeastern Louisiana University College Republicans student organization.

Originally from Metairie, Dr. Lind resides in the Hammond area with his wife Diana. A two-time graduate of Southeastern, he received a B.A. in management and a Master of Business Administration from the university. Continuing his education at the University of Alabama, he earned his Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration. Dr. Lind accepted a Friendship Oak Award from the university on behalf of the Le Souvenir in 2005. He is also a 2011 recipient of one of the university's most prestigious honors, the President's Award for Excellence in Unclassified Service. In 2015, he was honored with the Alumni Association’s L.E. Chandler Award for assisting students in their efforts and accomplishment of extracurricular activities.
