With Homecoming Week underway, students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of festivities. One event, the Student Government Association (SGA) Block Party, Bonfire and Lip Sync Competition, promises to offer students the opportunity to network with friends and new people in a fun, casual environment.
The Block Party, Bonfire and Lip Sync Competition, being held on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m., is being put on by the SGA as part of the weeklong celebration. It will take place on the University Center Field, which is between the University Center and the Alumni Center on North Campus.
President of the SGA, Luke Holloway, promises the event will provide plenty of opportunities for attendees to have a good time.
“The band is going to be there, Roomie is going to be there, football players are going to be there, coach is going to be there,” said Holloway. “It’s going to be a lot of judging.”
Holloway explained that the biggest change from last year’s version of the Block Party, Bonfire and Lip Sync Competition took place in the planning and executing of the event. Holloway explained that this year the Dream Team, the organization responsible for planning Homecoming, has collaborated with the SGA to execute this year’s events.
“This year, SGA is doing the block party and also is incorporated in the whole Homecoming week,” Holloway said.
Additionally, Holloway expressed his desire for all Southeastern Lions to come out and show their Lion pride at all Homecoming events.
