The Social Work Club is currently holding a Pop-a-Tab fundraiser, and when a 5-gallon water bottle is filled with soda can tabs, the club will be able to pay for one chemotherapy treatment for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
According to club president Jasper Collor, collecting soda can tabs to pay for a chemotherapy treatment was the Vice President Tuneea Magee’s idea and, as soon as the club heard about it, they wanted to start collecting immediately.
“Two of Southeastern University’s core values are ‘service’ and ‘caring,’ values that are exemplified by this fundraising effort,” said Dr. Corie Hebert, faculty advisor of the Social Work Club. “Even if we only fill one water bottle that will pay for one cancer treatment, we have reached out to an individual in the community and tried to help.
