Free Speech Alley, put on by the Student Government Association’s Judicial Branch, is set to bring together many opinions this semester, according to SGA leaders.
“Tell Me How You Really Feel about Southeastern” is the theme for this year’s FSA which will take place in the War Memorial Student Union Mall Nov. 18 through Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. SGA Chief Justice Mary Takewell expressed SGA’s interest in student opinion, positive and negative.
“All comments and feedback are welcome,” said Takewell. However, SGA Justice Brittany Williard hopes there are more positive responses about the university than negative, considering the recent controversial Facebook pages, SELU Crushes and Lions Confessions.
“I know the university has been in an uproar with the Facebook scandal because it started off innocent and funny and escalated quickly,” said Williard.
The two Facebook pages combined have over 5,000 Facebook likes.
The SGA will have tables set up with easels and markers for students to express their feelings about the university, according to Takewell. SGA representatives will display thoughts on T-shirts worn around campus during the week.
