    Ranatza resigns

After years of overseeing the campus admission operations and greeting incoming students at orientation, Assistant Director of Admissions Anthony Ranatza resigned. The decision, made on Thursday, Aug. 19, was made after Ranatza was offered a job at Strayer University’s Metarie campus. Ranatza made the announcement over his Facebook page. He will be accepting the position of Admissions Manager at Strayer. Ranatza noted the differences in the two jobs.

“I do a lot here with orientation,” said Ranatza. “I’ll be doing a lot more with admission management over there.”

The offer and ensuing decision were recent occurrences, according to Ranatza.

“It’s not really one choice over another,” said Ranatza.  “It’s an opportunity for me to do something different at a private university, and work on my masters.”

Strayer University, a private university geared toward adult students, has 92 campuses located along the east coast, according to www.strayer.edu.

“It’s definitely going to be hard,” Ranatza said.

According to Ranatza, he is also a photographer and designer.  Originally from New Orleans, he attended Brother Martin High School until he graduated in 1998. He graduated from Southeastern in 2002 with a Bachelors of Art Degree in Mass Communication. A year after he graduated, he obtained a full-time position in the Office of Admissions.  He enjoys digital design, film editing, photography, swimming, and traveling. He is also a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, a former Orientation Leader, a Southeastern Ambassador, and a member of the Rho Gamma Panhellenic Council.

“Southeastern is a true home-away-from-home atmosphere with a very friendly campus, and outstanding faculty,” stated Ranatza, on his selu.edu profile. “Southeastern is my other home.  Most importantly, when you look back years later, you will be proud to be a Southeastern alumni.”
