A Fairy Tale awaits in the Pennington

The Restoration House Pregnancy Resource Center will be hosting their first Cinderella’s Pumpkin Tea fund raiser. There will be a special appearance by Cinderella and other Disney princesses. Guests will have the opportunity to have tea and take pictures with the princess featuring her pumpkin carriage.

The tea will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12 in the Pennington Center. The times vary on the purchase of tickets.

“It’s a fund raising event with the focus being the children,” said Beth Davis, Executive Director of the Restoration House. “It’s based on the magical Cinderella story portraying kindness and love. Cinderella will be making an appearance in person with other Disney princesses such as Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.”

The Pennington Center will be decorated as if it was a fairy tale for the enjoyment of the children.

“We are going to have a lot of decorations to make it feel like a magical fairyland,” said Davis.

Pictures with Cinderella will be taken as a part of the event. If you would like to take separate pictures with your own camera, it is allowed.

“The picture is included in the package,” said Davis. “It will be in digital format. We won’t sell extra packages or anything, but we will have a big pumpkin carriage and a special backdrop.”

There will be food served. Along with tea, there will also be an option for lemonade. For a surprise, there will be special gifts pertaining to the theme.

“The treats are going to be a surprise for the people that buy their ticket,” said Davis.

Parents are to bring and accompany their children to the fund raiser.

There will be casual shopping Junior Auxiliary of Hammond’s attire in a market set up. Children are encouraged to wear princess costumes.

The Restoration House is a prenatal program that helps women prepare for unexpected pregnancy.

“We are a pregnancy resource center,” said Davis. “We help women who are pregnant. We have a prenatal program just to help out these women. We are basically a support group. The fund raiser is to help out women and to better the restoration house services.”

This is the Restoration House’s first year putting on this event and they are deciding to do it again.

“Likely we will host this event again next year,” said Davis. “A lot of people are excited about it, and if we sell enough tickets, we will definitely have this event again.”

The Restoration House will also be hosting the fourth annual Reindeer Run in Ponchatoula on Saturday, Dec. 3. For more information, contact the Restoration House at facebook.com/therestorationhouse.
