    Dining on North Campus

Students and faculty of the university and of Northshore Technical Community College can now grab something to eat on North Campus through the Provisions on Demand market on the second floor of the North Campus Main Building.

Aramark is providing a similar market to the other markets in the War Memorial Student Union and in Garrett Hall along with the edition of a self-serve brewing machine for customers to create their own Starbucks drinks.

“We partnered with Northshore Community College and Southeastern to make sure the students here were able to have these varieties and would not have to go all the way to south campus,” said Retail Operations Manager Amie Bruno. “We are excited to be here. We have a lot of different options. We talked to a lot of people last week while we were setting up that ‘Anything that you guys see here that you like or if you like something else, we’re totally open to suggestions.’ We’re just happy to be partnering here.”

According to NTCC Administrative Coordinator Lynn Becnel, “It’s been a long time coming for a dining option to arrive to North Campus.”

“We are very excited about having this, and I think it will be a tremendous asset to the whole school and this whole side of campus,” said Becnel. “I think the students have been eagerly waiting. For as long as I have been here, which is two years, people have been asking for it, and now we finally got it.”

The project has been a combined effort from Dining Services, Auxiliary Services and Facility Planning to make being on North Campus more convenient for students’ education and their stomach.

“Off and on for a while we have had requests to put a dining option on North Campus,” said Director of Facility Planning Kenneth Howe. “We used to have a lot of freshman classes up there, and those got moved to main campus. They have Northshore college, and a lot of those students are dual enrolled. We’re just trying to help those folks out as best we can and make their day as convenient as possible.”

The hours for the new POD market are Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students will have an opportunity to participate in a “Name the POD Contest” in the upcoming weeks. The winner will earn a $100 cub cash award from Aramark.
