With the cold weather rolling in and the holiday season beginning, the Lions football team has concluded their season with a 3-8 overall record and a 1-6 record in conference play.
The season, which began with a loss at Tulane on Sept. 3 and ended with a win on Nov. 17 against Nicholls State, saw ups and downs for a Lions team that ranked seventh in the SLC by the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) polls going into the season.
For head coach Mike Lucas, this season left something to be desired, but left the coach with a feeling that good things were coming in the future for the team.
“It’s a disappointing season when you only win three football games, but you got to look, we only had two seniors playing on defense all season.
