On Thursday, March 21 dedicated patrons of Southeastern’s choir program ventured to the First United Methodist Church of Hammond, expecting another beautiful performance by the University Chorus, Women’s Chorale and Concert Chorus.
However, what they were greeted by was confusion as this performance had been canceled with little warning.
Alumni from as far as Covington, Louisiana stood at the doors of the church confused as to why they were locked. The search for the choir began, as patrons wandered the church grounds in fear that the event location had been changed. When approaching another choir practicing in a side wing of the church, it was determined that the event had been canceled.
The show must go on, and will, as the concert has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 30 at the Columbia Theatre from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
