Therefore, SGA offers a chance for incoming freshmen to be elected as senators. The requirements include being in one campus organization and being a full time incoming freshman that is free from academic or disciplinary probation. Election results will be announced after elections which start on Sept. 26 at 8 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. on Sept. 28. Voting will be done electronically using individual student’s W number and their student account password. Results will be announced in the Student Union Breezeway directly after voting closes.
The elected senators will represent the student body. Senators may pass legislature and review the SGA’s policies to recommend changes within them. As outlined in the Freshmen Senator Packet, specific duties may include making changes to the SGA’s budget, officer nominations and the ability to impeach any officer under guidance of the Constitution and Bylaws.
