The Fall 2017 Ring Ceremony will be held in the Student Union Ballroom for the graduating seniors that will receive a ring.
The ring ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. The event is hoping to showcase all 150 students who have purchased rings.
Executive Director of Alumni Relations Michelle Biggs explained why students should participate in the ring ceremony.
“The ring ceremony is a very special event in the student’s transition to graduation,” said Biggs. “The ring itself is a very tangible connection to the university, and accepting the ring from Dr. Crain is a celebration of the student’s accomplishments thus far. They’re now one step closer to getting that coveted diploma.”
This year, the ring ceremony event itself will experience some changes. Biggs discussed the types of changes the event will have.
“While it is a serious and meaningful ceremony, this year we are adding some fun elements to the event,” said Biggs. “Roomie will lead the student procession and will also present the students with a special scroll that shows the symbolic importance of the design of the ring. We will also have a special backdrop available so that students can take photos with their family and friends during the reception afterwards.”
