The spring semester begins with the University Bookstore hosting Balfour for senior ring sales.
The ring sale will be held for a total of three days in the bookstore for students to view samples, receive their ring sizes and order official Southeastern rings. Ring sales began yesterday and will continue throughWednesday, Jan. 24 until 3 p.m.
Executive Director of Alumni Relations Michelle Biggs discussed what purchasing a ring means to a graduating senior.
“The official Southeastern ring keeps students and alumni connected to their alma mater,” said Biggs. “It is a tangible reminder of the hard work and dedication that they have put in toward their degree. We invite all eligible students to come by and see for themselves the beautiful symbols of this great university.”
Senior psychology major Ashley Scaffidi explained what receiving her ring means to her and how it signifies her time at the university.
“The end is near,” said Scaffidi. “My time at Southeastern was short and well lived.”
Scaffidi additionally mentioned what her future holds after she graduates this spring.
“Grad school,” said Scaffidi. “Coming back, getting my masters and just getting on the right career path.”
Biggs also said a ring may be purchased online at http://www.balfour.com/southeastern/ or during “Grad Fair” on Mar. 14 and 15. Other helpful tools that can be used is the Balfour phone number for ring sales, 1-800-BALFOUR (800-225-3687).
The “Ring Ceremony” is scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, which will be located in the War Memorial Student Union Ballroom at 6 p.m.
