Grad Fair, sponsored by the Alumni Association, is taking place once again for all graduating seniors. Held in the Alumni House Banquet Hall, the one-stop shop will help all graduating seniors walk across the stage on May 17.
On Wednesday, March 12, and Thursday, March 13, the hall will be open for students looking to purchase their cap and gown, order invitations, take their exit survey, purchase their diploma frame and take a complimentary cap and gown yearbook portrait photo. According to Alumni Association Director Kathy Pittman, Grad Fair signals the end of the road for seniors.
“Grad Fair is a one-stop shop hosted by Gamma Beta Phi in cooperation with the Southeastern Alumni Association. It is held twice a year prior to graduation,” said Pittman. “They can also receive information on Financial Aid, complete exit interviews, get assistance with resumes and job searches, and find out about grad schools at Southeastern.”
The Alumni Banquet Hall will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 13.
Students will benefit from many resources during the fair.
“It is also an opportunity to sign up with chapters of the Alumni Association, to purchase cords or bricks from the Southeastern Foundation, and to get Southeastern diploma frames and other merchandise from the Southeastern bookstore,” Pittman said.
Many seniors are excited for commencement and the end of their college career. Kait McKey, visual arts major shares her appreciation for the support of her family and the reasons she will attend Grad Fair.
“I’m walking in May for my family,” said McKey. “They’re the ones who want pictures and announcements. I’d be happy just getting my diploma mailed to me. I know I did the work. I know I earned it. My family was so loving and supportive that I feel the need to respect what they ask of me.”
