For the first time in a year after a fire caused extensive damage to the nightclub, The Buzz will mark its reopening with a sneak peek party. The party, planned for Saturday, Feb. 25, will be a peek at the anticipated new construction and expansion.
Tickets are being sold currently for $10 and can be purchased at Atlas during the day or regular business hours at night. Tickets at the door will go for $12.
One of the changes coming to The Buzz besides the new construction and expansion is the dress code. Thursday and Friday shorts are allowed however, they must be dress shorts. Also, no plain t-shirts, belts are required, no baggy clothes, no pullover hoodies and no spaghetti straps or tube tops. On Saturday, no hats, no shorts, no flip-flops or excessive holes in jeans are added to the dress code. However, according to a user submitted question on The Buzz’s Facebook page, strapless dresses are allowed.
Also, coming soon to Hammond is “University Taproom” which will open on Feb. 22. The “Utap” will offer a wide selection of beer on tap from all around the world. According to the website, there will be over 20 beers including Pabst Blue Ribbon, Woodchuck, Blue Moon and Guinness.
