As of Monday, students are able to report to Textbook Rental, located in Building F on North Campus, to pick up their textbooks for the spring 2012 semester.
In order to ensure all students have an opportunity to get their books, Textbook Rental has extended their normal operating hours for this week and the first and second week of classes.
“On Jan. 9, 10, 11 and 12 we will be open from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.,” said Dee Canoly, a customer service employee at Textbook Rental. “This is to help students complete the steps leading up to the first day of class.”
According to Canoly, in order to pick up their books, students must have their student ID. This means new students need to pick up their ID before journeying to Textbook Rental. Additionally, students must have their tuition and fees paid upon picking up their books.
Canoly explained that students should expect prompt and helpful service during their visit to Textbook Rental.
“We provide fast and friendly service,” Canoly said. “We have temporary employees to assist students with books and direct them to check out.”
Canoly elaborated by saying that their workers do more than just direct students to their books.
“If a student doesn’t have a book, we will certainly get it for them,” Canoly said. “We are here to assist the student and help them have an easy time checking out books.”
According to the Textbook Rental Web page, Southeastern is the only university in Louisiana to offer rental textbooks to students. Students pay a $35 fee per class with a rental book no matter how many books are required for that course.
