The Lion’s Roar: Do you have any favorite hobbies?
D’Shaie Landor: I like listening to music, playing FIFA and playing and hanging out with my son.
TLR: What is your favorite thing to do on campus?
DL: On campus, probably going to the cafeteria. I’m greedy; I like to eat.
TLR: As an athlete and as a student, how do you feel that you have changed since you started playing?
DL: I’ve probably matured a lot more as far as decision-making goes. As a student, I’ve learned that you actually have to study. It’s not high school where you can just take the tests and pass.
TLR: Do you have any goals that you want to accomplish this season? What do you want to accomplish this season as a student?
DL: My goals are to win the national and conference championships. As a student, I will make the honor roll.
TLR: What are you looking forward to the most this season?
DL: I’m looking forward to the brotherhood of the team. That’s what you miss the most when you stop playing, just being around all of your friends and your brothers and having all the fun times together. I’m also looking forward to making a lot of memories this season.
TLR: Are there any other athletes you look up to? Why?
DL: I look up to Russel Wilson a lot. Playing as a quarterback has a lot to do with leadership so I admire how much of a leader he is and how much his team respects him.
TLR: How did you come to play football at Southeastern?
DL: I actually started out at ULL. I signed with them out of high school, [and] then I transferred here. I knew coach Stevens, which he left, but I started talking to him and he got me over here. [Southeastern] was actually the first place to offer me scholarships out of high school.
TLR: How do you balance sports and school?
DL: I try to stay as organized as possible. As far as time goes, I try to stay compartmentalized and get all of my school work done so that way when I go home, I can just do what I have to do.
TLR: What do you enjoy about football the most?
DL: I like to compete in no matter what I do. I’m always competing whether it be in cards, video games, just anything.
TLR: Do you have any advice to offer to students and athletes?
DL: Always be ahead of the curve.
