The Lion Up Golf Scramble will be held at Oak Knoll Country Club to benefit the Lions football program. The Lion Athletics Association Touchdown Club is putting on the Golf Scramble.
“The Touchdown Club Lion Up Scramble is a four person team golf tournament,” said Tom Dawsey, Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Development. “The Touchdown Club is the booster club for the football program.”
The Golf Scramble will be on Friday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. with registration starting at 11:30 a.m. Individual entry is $125 and team entry is $500. All participants will receive prizes, lunch and drinks. The tournament will follow a four person shamble format.
“After each shot the team picks the best ball and plays from there,” said Dawsey. “Players can sign up as late as the day of the tournament.”
All fundraisers and events by the Touchdown Club go to the help the team on and off the field.
“All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Touchdown Club for assistance with summer school scholarships,” said Dawsey. “If people want to get involved they can contact me.”
Going to the Golf Scramble will also give fans a chance to meet with Lions athletics faculty.
“I will be attending and so will Athletics Director Jay Artigues and Touchdown Club President Trey Tantillo,” said Dawsey.
The Touchdown Club will continue to do similar events for the Lions football team in the future to provide financial support.
