“Maximum Devastation” is a novel which promises to take readers on a ride of political intrigue and thrills.
Penned by St. Tammany Parish attorney, parish council member and author, Neil C. Hall, “Maximum Devastation” is a story inspired by a current global issue that continues to unfold almost daily in news headlines.
On June 19, 2014, one month before the release date of “Maximum Devastation,” the Associated Press Headline read, “Iraqi forces fight for control of oil refinery. Iraqi soldiers and helicopter gunships battled Sunni militants for a third day on Thursday for control of Iraq’s largest oil refinery, the Beiji facility, which normally produces about 300,000 barrels per day.”
The novel is the action-packed story of a conspiracy trying to regain control of the power and oil in Iraq by planting a nuclear weapon above the English Channel Tunnel. The time remaining on the nuclear clock puts pressure on NSA Agent Jake McCune and his partner, IOA Special Agent Leanza Bardot from France to find and disarm the dangerous bomb.
Hall hopes his novel will take the reader on an unforgettable adventure, opening the reader’s eyes to the reality of an America that relies on those who should not be trusted.
Hall believes his novel is of relevant interest to readers of all backgrounds and ages, including college students.
“I think the book provides insight into America’s involvement in the Middle East and just how much the oil in that region dictates the policies of so many countries,” said Hall. “It has been said that ‘oil runs the world.’”
Hall has been concentrating on “Maximum Devastation” while his previous novel, “Extreme Consequences,” has potential script development by New Wave Entertainment.
In 1997, when serving as an Assistant District Attorney and representing St. Tammany Parish Government, the Parish council and various boards and commissions, Hall was forced to pause progress on both novels. Now, Hall is retired and is given the chance to focus on his writing.
With author and attorney under his belt, Hall has also written briefs that have filled the state and federal district and appellate courts.
