The Student United Way will be hosting a social event that will give students across campus a chance to have fun and get to know each other.
Participants will meet at Tangi Lanes on Wednesday, March 26 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. for two bowling games.
“The social is being held to unite all organizations on SLU’s campus and promote unity throughout our community,” said Orlando George, president of Southeastern’s chapter of Student United Way. “We hope that non-members can eventually attend different organizations’ meetings and become active in the community and school.”
According to the organization’s description on Southeastern’s website, the Student United Way is “a campus based community change organization, led by students, that addresses critical education, income and health issues in their communities.”
By uniting the campus through social events, the Student United Way can better fulfill its goal to promote growth and positive change within the community.
“We strongly encourage all organizations on SLU’s campus to attend,” said George. “There aren’t any requirements. People that attend can expect to socialize with people that they wouldn’t normally talk to on a regular basis and network with others.”
The cost of admission for the social will be $6, which will cover two games and bowling shoes. For more information on the Student United Way and the bowling social, contact Orlando George at orlando.george@selu.edu.
