Seniors celebrate grduation at the “Lion 4 Life Launch” party.

Graduates entering into an alumni base of over 70,000 were congratulated by the Alumni Association at the “Lion 4 Life Launch” party.

Held on the lawn of the Alumni Association from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. on May 16, student competed in games such as bubble soccer, a three-legged race and a doughnut eating contest for a chance to win prizes.

Michelle Biggs, executive director of alumni relations, believes the joy she witnesses in students to be the best part.

“These are our graduating seniors,” said Biggs. “We’re very excited to have them and we’re happy to be able to celebrate with them and this moving on to the next chapter of their lives.”

Graduates who donated to Lion Legacy, which is a fund that provides support to the Southeastern Alumni Association’s young alumni programming, were also rewarded with a pre-event reception at the president’s house, where champagne and desserts were served.

During this time, the winner of a Southwest Airlines gift card raffle was announced. This semester’s winner was graduating senior Autumn Griffin.

University President Dr. John L. Crain expressed his gratitude for the students who donated.

“You’re here today because you’re all members of Lion Legacy,” began Crain, “You’re all lions for life, and I want to thank you for that, thank you for your generosity, and commend you for an early discovery of philanthropy.”
