Next week, students on campus will get to see the full effects of texting and driving as the Campus Activities Board (CAB) will put on a day of events focusing on the dangers of texting and driving.
In honor of September being the Texting and Driving Awareness month, on Tuesday, Sept. 15, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the Student Union Mall, CAB will help students be more aware of the dangers.
There will be two texting and driving stimulators, a guest speaker and a movie to make sure students know that taking their eyes off the road for even three seconds is a deadly risk.
“[The movie] takes the peoples’ experiences from a texting and driving accident onward. It follows their lives from that point on,” said Todd McElroy, coordinator of CAB, about the movie.
The event is free and all students are welcome to partake in the activities.
For further information, visit the CAB office in the Student Union Room 201A or contact Todd McElroy at 985-549-3805.
