Students who are nearing the completion of their curriculum should be aware of the approaching deadline for the fall graduation application. The final day to apply for fall 2011 graduation is Sept. 15. First students need to pay the appropriate fee of $35 to the Controller’s Office located in the North Campus Financial Aid Building. After completing this step students should begin the graduation application process by logging into LeoNet and selecting “Self Service”, “Degree Progress/Graduation, Apply for Graduation” and then verifying that all the information is correct. Finally, students should complete the Southeastern Exit Survey. The Southeastern Exit Survey is only to be completed during the student’s graduation semester.
Although students graduating in the spring have until the final deadline of February 15, 2012 to apply for graduation, they are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.
“My biggest advice for students would be to apply as soon as you know you’re graduating,” said Paulette Poche, director of Records and Registration.
Students applying for spring graduation before Sept. 15 have the advantage of a smaller graduation fee as well as priority registration appointments for spring scheduling. Students that apply before Sept. 15 for spring graduation will be required to pay a fee of $10. Those applying after Sept. 15 but before Dec. 1 will be charged $25. All remaining graduate applicants will be charged $35 before February 15, 2012 to complete the gradation application process. No applications for graduation will be taken after February 15, 2012 for spring and after September 15, 2011 for fall.
The Controller’s Office accepts payments in the form of cash, check, money order and credit card in their office located on North Campus. Credit card payments by phone as well as checks and money orders via the mail are also acceptable. The office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
