The Department of Music and Performing Arts will present the Senior Capstone Student Dance Concert at Choreomania on Tuesday, April 21, at 7 p.m. in the Pottle Auditorium.
Performances will feature original choreography by graduating dance seniors completing their capstone requirement in the contemporary dance concentration.
For this capstone, students are responsible for choreographing and rehearsing original pieces while collaborating with fellow dancers and working with faculty mentors.
Senior artistic director Carlie Dodd helped manage this event, directing a variety of dance pieces for one of the final performances of the spring semester.
Each senior in the contemporary dance concentration uses this performance to emphasize choreography and showcase their creative growth developed during their time in the program.
The capstone concert also provides graduating seniors with an opportunity to present their final work in a performance setting.
Tickets are $10 for students, seniors, children and military members, and $15 for general admission. Tickets will be available for purchase in the lobby an hour before the performance.
This Senior Capstone Dance Concert, Choreomania, is open to the public, and parking is available outside Pottle Auditorium and the Music Building.
