Jake Johnson: It’s awesome. It’s just like a family. We are together everyday. It’s unexplainable to be out here everyday.
TLR: What do you love most about playing baseball?
JJ: Everything; it’s hard to answer. It’s fun to be here with my friends. It’s great to have a nice win and to get a sweep over Northwestern.
TLR: What are some personal goals you have for this season?
JJ: To go to Omaha. Not only do we want to go to Omaha, but to also win the national championship.
TLR: What are some team goals set for this season?
JJ: We take every game one at a time. Go out there 1-0 every week, and if we do that it will take us all the way to Omaha and win the national championship.
TLR: Do you have any quotes that inspire you to play better? If so, what are they?
JJ: Every game I read a quote. Psalm 144:1, “Praise be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.”
TLR: What made you decide to come to Southeastern to play baseball?
JJ: It felt right once I came down here. It felt just like a family, and something told me it was the right place to be.
TLR: Are there any hobbies you like to do while you are not on the field or at school?
JJ: I love hunting and fishing. That’s my life outside of baseball basically.
TLR: What motivated you to have the passion for the game that you have today?
JJ: My grandpa. He’s always been a big part of my motivation. Also, my dad, pushing me towards playing and getting better everyday.
TLR: Are you involved in any organizations in school? If so, which ones?
JJ: I just play baseball because it takes up a lot of my time.
TLR: What do you love most about being a Southeastern student and baseball player?
