Gamers anticipate big things from fall’s upcoming releases

Fall has become a much-anticipated time for all avid video gamers as they wait eagerly for the next blockbuster game to come on sale.
Halo 4, Assassins Creed III, Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Resident Evil 6 are four games that many fans have been waiting for since the release of the former game of each series.
"Developers are making games long so people anticipate and want the next game in the series," said Matthew Gill, a KSLU volunteer headlining a show called "Experience Points" which discusses video games and online sensations.
Series games have kept people wanting more and continue to resonate in gamers long after they finish playing.
"People have played Halo forever and it is a very story driven game.  It's good for everyone because it has a really good story but also has fighting and action," Gill said.
Halo 4 picks up with Master Chief again, a star character. It is scheduled for release on Nov. 6.
Deviating from its predecessors, Assassin's Creed III takes place in America during the Revolutionary war. A new character, Conner Kenway, is introduced who is half-English and half-Native American. It is scheduled to hit sales on Oct. 30.
"The story line is amazing, it's like reading a good book," said Gill on the subject of Assassins Creed I and II.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II, to be released Nov. 13, will have a futuristic setting, but will also venture into the past.  The game will have a much more first person shooting than previous volumes and will continue to bring a lot of hype from the gaming world.
"I like the different types of game modes there is and it helps me enjoy the free time I have. The action gets pretty intense," said Robert LePere, sophomore nursing major, on the Call of Duty series.
For fighters out there, Resident Evil 6 is a game to play. It brings in multiple enemies and zombies as well as old and new characters. The game features a new control scheme and graphical enhancement.  It is to be released Oct. 2.
This fall will not be disappointing for gamers as they journey through foreign lands, handle powerful weapons and fight the zombies of the world.
