Rock N’ Roar scheduled for late March

On Saturday, March 23, the Alumni Association will host the Sixteenth Annual Rock ‘N Roar Fest, a one day mini festival featuring food, music and entertainment.
“[Rock ‘N Roar Fest] is held in conjunction with the District Literary Rally which attracts over 3000 students to the university,” said Kathy Pittman, Alumni Director and coordinator of Rock ‘N Roar. “It is a recruitment event for the university and gives prospective college students an opportunity to see what the total college experience is all about.”
Rock ‘N Roar Fest will be held in the Student Union Park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to everyone. There is no cost for admission and entertainment is free.
“Food booths are manned by Alumni and student organizations, which gives them an opportunity to earn some money for their groups,” said Pittman. “There will be food, music, entertainment, inflatables and more.”
There will also be a kids’ camp that morning open to kids ages 5-13. The kids’ camp will include activities such as art, dance and baseball. The money earned from the camp will go to the group who put on the camp.
Any student wanting to get involved can volunteer the day of, or get involved through a student group.
