Campus Dining advisory board seeks feedback

Campus Dining gives students the opportunity to provide feedback on the food options offered on campus each month through a student advisory board.
The group is currently seeking new members and is open to students of all classes and majors.
Meetings are held each month and offer a forum for students to voice their opinions and make their concerns known. Campus Dining representatives  are including Food Services managers and directors are present at each meeting.
“The purpose of the Advisory Board Meetings are to ensure an open forum for students to give feedback about dining services on campus,” said Robin Parker, Director of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives. “The Food Service Director and Managers attend the meetings to ask and answer questions, as well as gather information about challenges that students are facing. We want to ensure we follow-up and address any topics that arise.”
Several changes to the dining options offered on campus originated from members of the board at meetings which have taken place for several semesters.
Students benefit from the concerns brought up during the meetings and implementation of necessary changes such as the elimination of the black out period and the addition of guest passes.
“Just a few of the many changes implemented from these meetings have included removing the blackout period for residents during lunch time at retail locations, adding guest passes to the Pack Plan so that students can treat a friend and a Naming Contest for the new restaurant on campus, The Mane Dish,” said Robin Parker.
The Dining Advisory Board will continue to meet as usual after the opening of the new Student Union addition. The  upcoming meetings will cover the new union restaurants and food options and the new brands and locations on campus, such as Mooyah, Panda Express and  a second Chick-fil-A, which will feature a full menu. The board’s main goal is to ensure that students’ needs are met.
The next meeting will take place on February 26 at 5 p.m. For more information contact the Campus Dining Office at 985-549-2286 or via email at [email protected].
