Jewelry and Accessory Sale will be giving both students and the community a chance to start checking off their Christmas lists.
Get your holiday shopping started or even treat yourself to something special. The Jewelry and Accessory Sale will be at the Student Union on Wednesday, November 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday November 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a $6 Jewelry Sale plus other specialty items.
These items will include jewelry fit for both women and children, belts for men, purses and scarves. All items will be 6 dollars, except for a select few such as the purses and scarves, which will be marked at the sale. All of the items available will be supplied by a local vendor.
Customers will be able to use both cash and credit cards at the sale.
The event is sponsored by the Southeastern Alumni Association and will serve as a fund-raiser for the organization.
“It’s a brand new event; we are doing it for the first time ever,” said Director of Alumni Association Kathy Pittman. “We wanted to do something that would be fun. Also, it is a fund-raiser for the Alumni Association.”
The event will be open to men and women of all ages. The low-priced merchandise promised by event will prove even more relevant with the Christmas holidays approaching.
“We want them [students and the community] to have a lot of green and gold merchandise and a lot of fun,” said Pittman. “They can also get a head start of Christmas shopping. It is a will be a fun and different way to do it, and it is convenient and inexpensive.”
According to Pittman, most of the merchandise will be green and gold, in order to give everybody a chance to purchase something representing their university.
Pittman has high hopes for the event overall and believes it will appeal to a large demographic on campus.
“I think there will be a great turn-out,” said Pittman. “We have been getting the word out and a lot of people seemed interested.”
