The Lady Lions basketball team lost its second home game of the season 59-47 against Xavier University of Louisiana.

The loss ended the Lady Lions’ four game win streak on Nov. 30 in the University Center.

Head Coach Ayla Guzzardo shared her thoughts on the loss.

“We couldn’t put the ball in the basket down low,” said Guzzardo.”I thought we had some good looks, but we could never capitalize on their mistakes and missed a lot of heavy contact shots. I was a little disappointed because we practice shooting through contact at the end of every practice, and we couldn’t get it done tonight.”

Guzzardo discussed improvements the team looks to make.

“It’s going to be a very tough practice next week with finals approaching,” said Guzzardo. “We need to work around everyone’s schedule and get a few good practices in before we hit the road. We tell the girls grades first and that academics are important. With that being said, I don’t think next week’s practice is going to be easy.”
