Southeastern’s annual Biz-Connect is just around the corner, giving students a chance to connect with potential employers. Organized by Career Services, this business-based career fair will take place on Thursday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Garrett Hall.
This opportunity is for students to meet companies and learn about job and internship opportunities.
At Biz-Connect, you will find around 50 local and national employers who set up booths to showcase their businesses.
Students can approach companies directly; no appointments are needed to discuss resumes and job openings or to ask questions about internships and the workplace.
Biz-Connect is about helping students kickstart their business careers. Whether you’re looking for full-time jobs, future opportunities or just to practice networking, this event lets you meet recruiters face-to-face.
To prepare for Biz-Connect, students have plenty of resources at their fingertips. The Career Closet is a handy spot for students to shop and donate professional clothing.
Career Services also offers resume reviews and printing, as well as help with cover letters, interview prep, mock interviews, internship searches, class assignments and professional headshots.
Don’t forget the Handshake app, which is an easy place to look for job listings, event sign-ups and more.
Leading up to Biz-Connect, February was career readiness month, packed with helpful events to build business skills. The month began with a job fair, which facilitated connections between students and employers, and Health Connect, a program that emphasized workplace wellness.
The Suit Up event at JCPenney let students purchase discounted professional attire, followed by a talk on professionalism in the workplace with April Carpenter.
If you’re a business major or just curious about career paths, mark your calendar for Biz-Connect on Thursday, March 12.
It’s an easy way to explore options and land that dream opportunity. Head over to the Career Services page on the Southeastern website for more details on signing up or other helpful services.
