Southeastern Louisiana University’s annual spring tradition, Fais Do-Do and Swamp Bowl, will take place Wednesday, April 29, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. outside the REC, bringing together mud volleyball, crawfish, music and other activities.
Hosted by SLU Housing, this year’s event combines two student favorites into one event. Fais Do-Do is an annual crawfish-centered festival, and Swamp Bowl is the anticipated mud volleyball tournament.
The event is one of SLU’s largest end-of-semester traditions and is held each spring before finals week.
Students who want to participate in Swamp Bowl must register in advance as part of a team through campus housing event registration.
Walk-up participation is not available for the official tournament. Teams are encouraged to register early due to limited spots.
Crawfish will be available for purchase using a meal swipe, $10 CubCash or Lions Lagniappe, or $12 via cash or card.
Students are encouraged to arrive early to secure food and view or support volleyball matches, as well as free t-shirts offered to the first 100 students!
The students participating in the Swamp Bowl are also encouraged to communicate with their teams in advance to coordinate arrival times and, if desired, matching attire.
The volleyball games are structured as a tournament, with muddy matchups throughout the afternoon! Students are invited to enjoy food while cheering on their favorite teams.
Fais Do-Do and the annual Swamp Bowl continue to serve as a major end-of-year tradition at SLU, offering students a break from academic pressure while highlighting campus involvement and student life before finals week.
