Kicks led three teams to victory

After three games, Delta Tau Delta, Arsenal, and Blue Lagoon were the winning teams. Students who wish to register their own intramural soccer teams can sign up on the university website.

Intramural soccer, sponsored by Recreational Sports and Wellness, had three back-to-back games.

The matches started on Mar. 4 at 6 p.m. in North Oak Park. The first game was a matchup between “Multiple Scorgasams” and “Arsenal.” The second game was “Delta Tau Delta” against Sig Tau Gamma Fraternity’s team “The Sharks.” The final match was “Ballin for Weaver” against “Blue Lagoon.”

The first game ended in a win for “Arsenal” 1-0.

Zachary Handlin and Ethan Swann, both freshman from the team Multiple Scorgasams, explained how they predicted the game.

They shared, “We expect a win, a dub, were gonna play hard, and do what we have to do.”

The second game was between Delta Tau Delta and Sigma Tau Gamma, where Delta Tau Delta took hime the 1-0 win.

The final game consisted of the teams “Ballin for Weaver” and “Blue Lagoon.” Each of the teams were on a winning streak from a previous day. In ending of the game, “Blue Lagoon” defeated “Ballin for Weaver.”

Sage Sammeli, the referee for all three soccer games, stated her opinion of the intramural games.

“Well, the best thing about this is that it is not serious,” explained Sammeli. “It is just kind of for fun, and I actually do meet a lot of people, and I love meeting new people.”
