Lady Lions trounced by Warhawks
The Lady Lions softball team took on the University of Louisiana at Monroe Warhawks to a 4-3 loss.
The teams faced off on April 2 at North oak Park. The Lady Lions did not put a run on the board until the 6th inning. With the loss, the Lady Lions fell to a 19-15 overall record.
Rick Fremin, head coach of softball, discussed changes the team will look to make for the next game.
“We have to make adjustments a lot sooner,” shared Fremin. “We have to get some runs across the board quicker. We have to stop the big innings. We hit a batter and walked a couple of hitters early on, and you can’t do that at this level. Other teams are going to take advantage of that every single time, and you can’t make those mistakes.”
Fremin identified issues at the beginning of the match.
“We weren’t aggressive enough at the start of the game,” commented Fremin. “Playing aggressive is more of our style, and I had no clue why we were playing so passive early on. But we will address that tomorrow during practice and try to get back to who we are with that aggressive mindset.”
