Used books looking for a new home
For $1 a piece, students and faculty can purchase used books for their enjoyment.
Sigma Tau Delta started its book sale on Mar. 12 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the D Vickers Hall lobby. This is the club’s second book sale of the semester.
Vice president of Sigma Tau Delta Jessica Firmin, a graduate student, explained that the books at the sale are donated to the organization.
“A lot of it either comes from teachers who are retiring and cleaning out their offices,” shared Firmin. “We’ve gotten stuff from people who want to clean out and gives us their books.”
Jacob Lopez, a junior English major, has visited the book sale before and says that he enjoys the low prices of the books.
Lopez explained that he enjoys reading in his spare time because he appreciates a good story line.
“It’s fun to do,” said Lopez. “I enjoy stories, so I watch movies, read books.”
Firmin shared that she created accessories for sale as well.
“Because I’m part of Sigma and I do go to the conferences, it’s kind of my little contribution,” commented Firmin.
The book sale will be continuing tomorrow, Mar. 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
