Saying goodbye: A message from the editor-in-chief

After three years, the time has come; I have decided to leave The Lion’s Roar. I have learned so much over the years and have grown immeasurably, but alas, it is time to pass the torch.

I did not expect to leave after only one year as editor-in-chief. In some ways, I wish I could stay, but I have opportunities calling my attention away, and honestly, I do not feel that I am well suited for the job anymore. Dr. Lee Lind, director of Student Publications, and Lorraine Peppo, coordinator of Student Publications, have each taught me so much about journalism, leadership and life in general.

I looked back at my first ever editorial and reminisced in the timid optimism I had at that time. So much has happened in the year since then that now I am a different person – ready to take on new roles and new responsibilities. However, I have faith in the staff and the next editor-in-chief. I am excited to see what they accomplish next.
