Danny Phantom wins Greek cook-off
A pastalaya competition ended the first day of unity and contest in Greek Week.
“Food Wars” was held outside the Pennington Student Activity Center on March 31.
The Danny Phantom team, consisting of Theta Phi Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Order and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., took first place in the competition. The Jimmy Neutron team placed second while the Rugrats team placed third.
Victoria Reid, a member of Alpha Sigma Tau on the Rugrats team, shared her thoughts on the “Food Wars.”
“It went really good,” stated Reid. “I’m excited we got third. I worked really hard, and I had help from a lot of my sisters and the brothers from the other chapters.”
Breanna Raborn, a member of Phi Mu on the Jimmy Neutron team, believes the competition was a good kickoff for Greek Week.
“It’s just to bond with the other organizations,” said Raborn. “We don’t talk to everybody on a daily basis, but this week just brings us all together.”
For Reid, the week serves to unite the Greek councils and chapters.
“It’s a good way for all of us to get together and really have to work together outside of our own organization and chapters,” explained Reid.
