The Lady Lions soccer team finished its season with a loss at the Southland Conference Tournament.

The Lady Lions fell to Lamar University 3-2 on Oct. 31 in Beaumont, Texas. The match started out with two goals in the first half by Lamar. In the second half, the Lady Lions scored two goals, but another shot from Lamar finished the game.

Head Coach Christopher McBride discussed the match.

“We never gave up, and we battled our way back in the second half,” said McBride. “It was a great effort by our girls tonight. We never stopped competing, and I’m extremely proud of the effort level they put in all season long.”

Despite the season-ending loss, the soccer team experienced good news. Sofia Olsson, a senior defender, Megan Gordon, a sophomore midfielder, and Claire Huston, a freshman defender, were selected for the All-Southland Conference Team.
